Former Army Dojo This is one-third of the entire dojo. Power sensei's office was in the next dojo to the right, and it was the same size. The dojo are on the south side of Camp Zama, and were used by foreign officer candidates (Manchuria, Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, etc.). The pictured dojo was for the first-class students, my office (dojo) was for the second-class students. A third dojo was on the same hill, but at the top of the hill; it was for the third- class students.
The early years ...
[Mugai] Early Iaido.
Beginnings Power sensei began his martial arts training in Bangkok, Thailand. When he returned to the States, he began studying Shorinji Tekken Ryu kenpo and Mugai Ryu iaido from Mr. Albert C. Church. He was Mr. Church's student from August 1970 through August 1972. And as you can see, his illustrious teaching career began at about the same time.
